The 30 honesty and lies idioms and sayings in this activity pack give your adult ESL students the language they need to get to the naked truth. The variety of worksheet and activity types ensures there’s something for everyone in your class. Idioms about honesty and lies are the perfect addition to adult ESL classes because they talk about when being economical with the truth serves them better than being a straight shooter.

With this, your students will learn 30 idioms and expressions that they might hear or want to use. They’ll be practicing and reviewing all 30 with activities that make the terms memorable. These pages will be the ones that go home with them, not get tossed in the trash on their way out at the end of class.

Idioms are the kind of everyday English that fluent speakers use without thinking twice but present a roadblock to people learning English. That’s why your students need to understand that sweeping something under the rug has nothing to do with poor housekeeping and that facing the music has nothing to do with a concert. Once they get that, they can start having fun making figurative language part of their daily communication.
