Problems Idioms Activity Pack for Adult ESL
You might have 99 problems, but coming up with something to teach idioms isn’t one of them because you just found this “problems” idioms activity pack has everything you need. (And I’ve got a whole bunch more themed idiom activity packs!) Give them the figurative language they need to understand what others are talking about and maybe join in if they want.
With this, your students will learn 30 idioms and expressions that they might hear or want to use. They’ll be practicing and reviewing all 30 with activities that make the terms memorable. These pages will be the ones that go home with them, not get tossed in the trash on their way out at the end of class.
Idioms are the kind of everyday English that fluent speakers use without thinking twice but present a roadblock to people learning English. That’s why your students need to understand that a red flag is a danger sign and that opening a can of worms is not something a fisherman does. Once they get that, they can start having fun making figurative language part of their daily communication.
